Department undertakes various epidemiological studies for estimation of prevalence of CVD and its various risk factors in Bangladeshi population and clarification of their impact on CVD in this population. Department also provide assistance to clinical departments for conduction of clinical research studies. Faculties and staff of the department have provided technical support to other institutes for conduction of national surveys such as Global Adult Tobacco Survey 2009, National NCD risk factor Survey (2010), National Eye Disease Survey (2012-13). List of research projects and programs are given in the table below. Collaborative studies have been done with University of Adelaide, Adelaide, Australia, and Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids, USA, Shiga University of Medical science, Japan etc.
